Default 60mm vs 70mm Test Pipe

I think I already know the answer, but I want to get some opinions based on peoples experience.

I have a Megan Racing 60mm resonated test pipe lying around in my garage. I never installed it, and it came with the car when I bought it.

I have a brand new T1R 70R EM dual coming from Evassive probably next week. Is it worth buying a 70mm test pipe, or just using the 60mm test pipe. I like the idea of having a resonator in the test pipe to keep it a little quieter. My question is, will there actually be a power difference between the 60 and 70? I imagine maybe like 1hp difference between the two.

A 70mm TP would be much better to match the exhaust. If you were to use the 60mm TP it would just bottle neck the flow.

I suggest you sell the 60mm TP and find a used 70mm TP on the forums.

I remember another member speaking of the venturi effect installing a 60mm test pipe on a 70mm exhaust, but I also remember another member debunking that hypothesis because the piping doesn't exactly flow enough as it needs to for the effect. Would someone like to evaluate on this?

Man, we both are waiting on this exhaust! Hopefully we get it soon

Anyway, go with 70mm TP. I asked Evasive to put 70mm invidia with CEL fix to the same shipment. I also have 60mm Berk TP right now, but you really want to match it with the exhaust.

Yea I spoke to Dennis about including the Invidia in the same shipment. I guess the only thing holding me back is, I have never heard this exhaust in person, so I may want to use the resonator to keep it a little quieter...although im coming from an Invidia, so just about everything will be quieter.

Test pipe is just a pipe, it doesn't matter Invidia or any other manufacturer.
I'm in the same boat as you, I don't want it to be very loud and annoying, I'll try to go with test pipe, but if I don't like it I'm going to switch to 70mm HFC. Asura and Berk sell them.
I'll try TP first since it's easier to sell it after since basically it is a cheaper part than HFC and more people go with TP vs HFC as far as I see.

BTW, I'm coming from Skunk2+Berk TP that is pretty much same thing as Invidia system

P.S. new J's header already waiting it's exhaust in my garage

Yea, I think I will just try the Megan for now...see what its like, then maybe change it up. Stay in touch and let me know how it sounds with the Invidia TP. That is awesome that you have a header as well...we have a local company doing some header developments right now, so I may add a header to this combo eventually.

Why not do a step system. 60mm test pipe and a 70mm exhaust. This will make for good exhaust velocity while still flowing well.
