Default Act clutch kit question

I can get the HS1-HDSS clutch kit from ACT for $450 through a family member. My question is I see people are saying to use the ACT pressure plate with the OEM disk, but this deal is a hell of a lot cheaper then buying the pp, disk, bearing etc seperately. Is there any reason I shouldn't buy this kit and use the oem disk and act pp?

That is a damn good deal....

A lot of people complain about the amout of buzz the act clutch produces. Ive even heard of people dropping their tranny for a second time to remove the disk for a stock one. If this is of concern... you could always buy this setup sell the clutch disc on ebay and buy a oem disk. The disk is one of the cheapest parts of the set. You can pick up a new oem disk for about $100.

450 your discount +100 oem disk = 550 - 50 proceeds from sale of act disk (assuming around $50) = 500

versus

525 act PP + 100 oem disk + 100 TO bearing = 725

If you are able to get this discount for the pressure plate alone then even better, dont bother with the buying and selling of the act disk in that case.

Sorry, not sure on this, but is the buzz while driving or just a decel buzz? How loud is it?

I just had mine done - initially it had HORRIBLE clutch buzz - drove me insane, it seems to have improved quite a bit over about 700 miles.

I've just done the exhaust, so now I hardly hear it.

Mine was decel, between about 2000rpm and 3500rpm - loud, and it felt like the car was vibrating.
