Default AEM S2 ecu worth it?

Hey i have a standard 00' s2000 (only intake) and was wondering if it is worth putting in a AEM S2 ECU? and if i got it pro tuned would it increase much speed?

I'm very happy with it although it was quite a large investment. I would not have been able to stomach the cost back in the days....

I would call it a prerequiste to power and will bring out the power combined with other mods. The tuning can easily cost more than the unit itself depending on how crazy your setup is. You will gain power with it and with light mods you may not be getting your $ worth. The more supporting modification you have the more it will help

Single biggest bang for your buck. NA or FI. If you mod more in the future this will maximize your return. Ultimate flexibility.

Yes it's worth it. I would still get a few more mods before you get it tuned though. If you're wanting and exhaust, test pipe, ect.. then put those on before you get the AEM and tune it. If you tune it now and get a new mod, you will need to get it retuned to your new setup for the best performance and safety, plus it will be expensive having to get it tuned, then re-tuned when you get a new performance mod.
