i was disappointed when bags started making their way into the VW scene which I still hang out in... and S2Ki is the last place i would have expected to do something like this. to each their own and all that junk... but i think it'll look stupid. imo bags look like someone stepped on a hotwheels car. S2Ks already look like toys, now it'll look like a broken toy. and unless you're spending an over-the-top rediculous amount of money, it's going to handle like shit.
Honestly, I don't know why this is getting flamed on. I think the OP poses an interesting question. Because if done right, and a company produces this suspension with equal parts aesthetics and performance in mind, I certainly wouldn't be against it. This Roberuta U.S.A seems pretty legit considering they deal with exotics, but I don't pretend to know enough about it. Obviously this isn't necessary on a s2k, rather a luxury. However if you have the presumably absurd amount of cash it will take to do this the right way, and when it's all said and done you're able to uphold the s2's original performance characteristics (e.g. canyon runs, spirited drives, auto-x's, etc... everything short of a track monster), than that's a hell of a convenience most people don't have. So I'm interested to see if anyone else can add input or experience.
The Roberuta cup kit, from Top Secret, and only available form Bulletproof Automotive is what you want. I have done extensive research on "idea" of raising and lowing my vehicle at the flip of a switch. However I would never sacrifice a stiff suspension to do so. You shouldn't neither.
Give Hunter over at Bulletproof a call and he'll give you all the info on this kit. It's pricey but well worth it in the end, especially if you have some expensive body work IE: Amuse, Tracy, Mugen, Spoon. You get the point.
I helped install the kit on my friends car. Its prretty sweet.. its a custom kit but with bags made for the S. I don't. Rember the names of stuff sorry. We had about 50 into custom built tak and comprssor holder and had to wire it up using 4 diffrent scamatics. Good thing I can read them to figure that ish out it was really cool to take this project on. It turned out great!! If u wanna kno more
and I am in the process of selling the kit... i recently got a dui so im in dire need of $$ just fire me a pm if anyone is interrested or has any questions..
