Well I just had my first failed install attempt. I got as far as jacking up the car. That's when I discovered the jack couldn't raise the car high enough to place the stands underneath. Le sigh...

I am installing mine now, and either the nuts that are welded on the plate with the fins on it are on backwards! They are on top and therefore the rear section will have to be below the front section...I will try and take a pic here in a second. This will disrupt the airflow and cause debris to get caught between the plates. There is a nut directly under the flange from my exhaust/header that will bump if i were to bottom out on anything...In the first pic you can see the nut under the exhaust can on top of the plate....

Any disruption in airflow is going to be negligible concidering the improvement in airflow as is. I had another member PM me about this, my suggestion would be to run a bead of silicon or rubber trim along this gap if this is a percieved problem. The gap is under 1/16" and is just after the bend so its out of the direct air stream, the bend is going to create a point of vacuum that would negate any negatives of this gap. You could also drill out the inserts and run the panel on the backside if you really wanted to be picky, but again I really dont think its going to make a measurable difference when you concider the vast improvement in airflow performance already achieved.

Im not really sure what you're talking about regarding the nut. I've test fit and installed these on a few cars and the nuts weren't very close to any mufflers.

I appreciate the constructive criticism though, these are all things to concider and make improvements on for future revisions.

As for the rear pieces, i like both the showing, and the flush. but i agree, i think there should be the flush set, and the aggressive set. what cad software do you use?
We use Autodesk Inventor 2008. As for the splitter, I will probably start with an AP1 + OEM lip for now but will add the AP2 bumper. Im currently shopping for an AP2 bumper but cant find anything locally as of yet.

My plan for the rear side pieces would be a flush mounted piece with the option of extensions that would sandwich at the mounting point and give this "shelf" effect. I personally really like how it sticks out and will be running them this way on my AP1, I just need to get an AP2 test car to fit these onto. I will start selling AP1 versions right away, I will probably have something listed on Monday. Maybe a group buy if there is enough interest.

Im getting lots of feedback on the diffusers, people asking for the rear side pieces, splitters, engine bay covers etc.

I threw up a little pole on my facebook page, please vote or adds some options to the poll. I'd like to start taking numbers from people so I can get some more focus'd direction on what kind of parts we'll be working on in the near future.

Let me know here:

Ok. Today was much more productive thanks to a couple of pieces of wood. My diffuser kit is now installed. Woot!

I have some suggestions I'd like to make that would make the installation of the diffuser even easier. Keep in mind that these suggestions are based on an AP2 install.

1. I found it cumbersome to adjust the upper screws on the center mounting brackets using an angled hex tool particularly when the diffuser plate is mounted. It would be easier to adjust the screws if a 8-10mm bolt was used instead adjusted using a box end wrench.

2. All of the included washers should be of the rubber grommet type. I'm concerned that the metal only washers might allow the screws to shake loose over time.

3. The three holes at the back of the rear diffuser would benefit from being elongated to allow for discrepancies in the holes drilled into the bumper.

4. The rear rivets that hold the middle fins rub against the AP2 bumper when completely flush mounted. I placed some double sided tape between the rivet and the bumper to minimize scratching but eventually it will occur. I'm not certain what the proper course if action is for this.

I appreciate the suggestions, I will concider all of these changes. It would be pretty easy to throw a head hex bolt in for the subframe brackets and I know what you mean about adjusting them, if you dont get them straight you have to move them around a bit to line up with the holes. I will include different bolts for these from now on. I'll see about getting some little rubber stops to put on the nuts for the fins closest to the rear bumper to prevent any rubbing too.

I will post some revised information on the side pieces in the next couple days and once I've got the design button'd down we can initiate a group buy on those too.
