Another Coilover thread...
Okay guys,
I've been driving my S2000 stock for over two years now. I've done a couple of track days and auto-x, although thanks to lawschool I have no time on weekends anymore. Anyways...I'm sick of having a stock car and I'm ready for some suspension and some Ap2 wheels.
I refused to throw on some springs like I have done with my previous car (WRX), I am looking to only put on quality parts on my S2000. I am looking for a coilover that has the best matched springs/shock valving - I am looking for a quality shock in my coilover. I don't want the "fastest" or best track coilover - I don't care about shock adjustability, I am just looking for shocks and springs valved perfectly for one another. I want a quality ride!
I want ride quality better than stock. In the Sport Compact Car comparo they noted that ALL the cars had better ride quality than stock, so I think this is reasonable. I want to be able to drop quite low if I felt like it, and I'm looking for the car to have less body roll and be more controllable than a stock car, but I'm not going for FTD.
I'm going for driving enjoyment and value, which to me means something totally streetable (moreso than stock), and a quality matched shock and spring. I think I could stretch to about $1800, but a coilover that is cheaper (say Buddyclub) would be fine if it had reasonable close quality. Like I said, I'm a student, so value is quite important!
No harshness, crashing or bounciness!
Which coilovers have great shocks? I'll be rolling on these every day of my life for about 3 years! Which coilovers have you found to feel as good on the road as the stock suspension?

im suprised someone hasnt meantioned the KW V3's yet. i have them. very good ride, and the adjustability is actually noticeable and makes quite a difference. mostly everyone that has them will comment on their build quality. if you want something that will last long, adjustable and rides great i would suggest the v3's. plus they are right up your alley with the price range.
I find it frustrating that I cant really find a post from anyone with Tein monoflex coil overs with the EDFC unit. I saw that they fared very well in that sports compact car comparison but I just like the idea of adjustability from inside the car with EDFC. The price they had them listed for was around 2100.
Just saw my chance to inquire with a coil over thread up again

I am in the same boat as the OP, and want the same things, with a little bit of adjustability with the shocks. I was thinking Teins, HKS, or KWs. Subscribing to hopefully see more posts from actual owners.

I don't own the setup but I've seen Koni Yellows w/ Ground Control Coilovers recently and they looked amazing on the car ... the owner claimed to really like the ride too. Just another idea ....
