Wink Another happy CDV removal

You mean it's not normal to shift hard into second, wait 2 seconds while the clutch goes out for a cup of coffee or whatever the hell it likes to do, then engage.

This was my best mod by far to date. and only 15 dollars for some hook pics and brake fluid. Took about 45 minutes using the great DIY's posted here on s2ki.

Second gear now stays in Vtec and grips instantly. Man have I been missing out.

What a useless part for an enthusiast.

Where'd you get the picks and what did they look like? I've had a failed attempt at this because the picks I was using didn't grip the ring.

ahhh great question. I should've posted that up from the get go.

After reading all the DIY's and seeing a Dental pic posted I went to the nearest walmart and bought some dental pics. They were way to weak and not sharp enough to slide under the ring.

SO.... i went to Napa auto parts and for 6 bucks bought these hook pics. They are so sharp it literally took me 1 second to pop the snap ring out and to put it back in.
HERE they are

This mod is only difficult if you can't find pics sharp enough, strong enough, and thin enough. The ones posted above were brilliant for the job.

The pic slides under the snap ring only if it is extremely sharp. Dental pics did not work for me and bent like crazy. I do not know about the stronger, more expensive, dental pics.

Hope this helps.
