Thumbs up Anyone ever install carbon fiber doors?

I finally picked a pair up for my 08 S.

They are the Seibon brand, so all of the CF weave matches the different panels I have so far.

Has anyone actually installed these themselves?

I'm curious as to if I will run into any ridiculously hard parts to remove or swap over and any tips if so.

Yes, I am aware of the difference in structural reinforcement between stock steel doors and the CF doors.

never did the s2k doors, but i did have seibon carbon doors for my ae86... for the most part fitment was good, and all the parts transferred fine. the only problem was getting the glass to move up and down--the doors were waaaaaay too tight on the glass. but since the glass on the s2k is not framed around the top, hopefully they will be fine for you.

Worst "mod" you can do. Not safe and never looks good unless you have a black car or paint them. If you wanna risk imminent death go ahead

I'd say it depends on what he's doing with the car. If it's a daily then I could find a better way to spend 1,700 even if its FI already.

I have the doors.
For pics search for the CF thread. Everything is cf except rear quarters. The hardest part is getting the door handles out. There is a hidden clip. The next hardest is the top window exterior brush/squeege (rubber that pushes against the window on the outside. There are whit clips with 3prongs you need to carefull push in and pull up without breaking. These might not fit into the thicker cf slots and you will have to file down the slots to be thinner so the clips can snap in. Last is window sealing tight. The adjustment of the window sealing at top is time consuming. I had to adjust it a few times to eliminate wind noise, water leaks, and clearance.

Feel free to contact me with any questions!

Where is the adjustment for the window tightness going to be located?
