Default Anyone use clutch stops in their S?

When I first drove a s2k, I noticed how long the travel was. Just now I cut the distance a fair bit by sticking three Grippers (those rubber things you put underneath table legs) on top of the factory rubber clutch stop location. No problems starting the car either.

Has anyone done this before? Driving impressions? I still have to go for a drive, but I can tell a huge difference in clutch pedal travel.

I also found the clutch travel a little long. I used a shock absorber bushing to reduce the travel. The clutch arm is angled so that contact is with the bushing and not the bolt that secures it to the floor. Starting the car just needs a little more pressure on the clutch pedal than normal. For anyone NOT in the know, it would seem to be a problem with the ignition switch. I just have to remind anyone that needs to start my car to give it a little more kick.

Excellent idea. I have done the clutch stop mod in my BMW as well, it acts as an extra security feature!

Could you take a pic of your setup, when you have some free time? I have a feeling your design is way better/permanent than my solution.

did i missed something?

you stick something on the bushing so the clutch would ride itself(clutch riding) to reduce panel travel?

Do you still get full disengagement with these stoppers in place?

Yupp...

I guess the only way I'm sure of that is that I never grind on downshift, or putting it in any gear. Even if it was 'riding' the clutch - the only reason the clutch is in on my car is if im taking it in or outta gear, I never hold it in.
