Default AP1 armrest iPhone docking station

Figured I would share this here in case anyone else was interested to cut up their oem ap1 armrest. I' very happy with the outcome!!
Just copied this from my local forum where I posted it. My Edge iPhone died on me the other night so had to buy a new 3G iPhone and still plays all fine but unfortunately does not charge it now. So I gotta look for a new cable that will charge it.

My iPhone was always dying on me so I decided I needed something to charge it with. I decided to make a mount in my armrest for it so it would be secure and easily accessible. With much help from John(Neutured Sputnicks) I got an Ipod interface for my Eclipse head unit hooked up so that I could play all music from my iPhone through my head unit and maintain dash controls as well. One awesome feature when a phone call comes in the music automatically turns down and the ring goes through the speakers. The original perforated leather armrest got a little stretched and loose after installing everything so I decided to go with suede instead and make it much cleaner imo. Have this in the electronics section already so you might have seen it but oh well.

Here is the final results. Everything works perfect so far!

Thanks. Hey are you in Lakeland right next to or near to Winter Haven? If so I was there I think for a Mardi gras parade a month ago or so and moving to Winter Haven prolly next month.

Thanks. I might try another variation on this at some point. Luckily the AP1 center consoles are super cheap so not very hard to do. Just gotta find out how to get more of that iPhone packing case thing that I used for the craddle piece.
