Default AP1 exhaust in AP2

Does anyone know if you can install a Mugen AP1 exhaust in an AP2? I noticed the rear hanger on the muffler forms a triangle for the AP2 muffler. Is it possible to change the hanger and make it work? Has anyone tried to change their mufflers using an AP1 exhaust
Thank you

My limited experience with 2002 and 2006 cars indicates the same aftermarket exhausts fit either. May take some fine tweaking of hangers but nothing serious. Direct experience with the horrible Invidia Q300 and wonderful Tanabe Medalion Touring dual systems.

It will fit, but will look awkward. The tips are too small for the large ap2 rear bumper opening.

i think it looks ok. i have a stock ap1 exhaust on my 07. maybe 1 in longer on the tips would look better, think the oval tips are longer. (nicer too)

Thank you, did you change the rear hanger from the three hole rubber hanger to the two hole rubber hanger when you changed systems?

my son's friend and i switched exhaust i wanted his oem and he wanted my 70mm single. since they had to cut some triple hole hangers, they had to use use both double hole and triple hole ones to secure my exhaust. good thing the single exhaust use less hangers.

Have a 2003 with muffler delete. No muffler, just straight pipe after the cat.
Want to put OEM catback and found some ap2’s. Does they fit in the ap1 bumper?
Anyone with experience?

I doubt the AP2 exhaust tips will fit in the AP1 bumper slots. The four aftermarket exhausts I've installed (2 on a 2002 and 2 on a 2006) all had round tips that fit either slot. You may be able to swap the tips.

The difference is the length of the pipe past the muffler. The exhaust will fit, but the tips aren't interchangeable unless you cut the muffler pipe shorter.

I ran a Mugen AP1 exhaust on my old 05 AP2. It bolted up fine. The tips did look a tad odd though.
