AP1 front lip
Can someone please direct me to a dealer that sells a decent front lip for an AP1? I was rear ended recently while parked on a steep downhill. My car popped over the curb and hit a light pole. Surprisingly little body damage, given it all. The drivers insurance paid $3500 for repairs. But Geico, being Geico, only gave me $90 for the front lip, since it was aftermarket. Got one off eBay. Horrible. Really poor moldings I guess.
Ideas? Thanks.

Since nobody has responded I'll take a shot.
I'm not aware of anyone who sells AP1 OEM lips. You can try Hardtopguy or his new site rchondaparts. It's listed there but I don't think it's available. That being said I have a BaysonR lip from ebay, IMO fitment was not great but it was $50 so it was expected and it does fit....just not like oem. However, I was quoted $200 to paint this little piece of plastic so that's damn near the cost of a OEM Lip. I would convert to AP2 bumper if I had the money.

I do blame Geico. They were a pain to work with from the start, trying to nickle and dime me at every turn. Next, as for $90 for an aftermarket lip. Seems to me that since their customer hit my car, I should have it returned to its original condition. Instead, they gave me $90 and suggested eBay. I have not been able to find a decent one in a month. It's on me to find one and install.

Have you tried the For Sale section?
Also, I don't blame Geico. You didn't have an OEM lip and it wasn't even painted. Why should you get more than what it's worth?

Considering they start from $50 shipped, and you didn't have OEM to begin with I think you'll survive with $90.....
Regarding the install, you'd be incorrect. Whatever repair shop is doing the work would install it. They may be allowing you to purchase it rather than the shop however so you can choose which lip you'd like. It's not on Geico to paint it either since it appears yours is unpainted as well. If you had an OEM lip (which it appears you didn't) then why should Geico give you $350 to get one? Your 'original condition' is a 10+ year old S2000 bumper with a <$60 unpainted eBay oem-style lip. Bayosner (think that's his name) is mentioned in the eBay parts thread as selling very well-fitting front lips for reasonable prices. I'd suggest pursuing that.
I'm sorry you had the accident but you can't hate Geico for it. And if you had issues with them you should have YOUR insurance company do the negotiating.

Haha, nope.
I do have them as my insurance company though and they have been fantastic for me. Had absolutely no issues when I filed a claim with my S2000 and went so far as to allow me to buy OEM parts they had replaced with aftermarket ones and reimbursed me for them no questions asked. Nothing but good things to say about them.
You could replace Geico with StateFarm, All State, etc in my post though. The OP is delusional (obviously upset, I would be too) to think that an insurance company is going to replace an unpainted aftermarket part with an OEM one that costs 3-4 times as much.
