Hey guys just wondering has anyone ever taken apart their ap1 or ap2 headlights? I have ap2 headlights with messed up glass, I want to take the glass off my ap1 (which are mint) and swap them onto my ap2. Will it work? Also can I take out the internals to the ap2 and swap it into the ap1 housing?

 

Many people have diassembled both ap1 and ap2 headlights. It requires heating up the sealant with a heat gun or oven and prying the 2 halfs apart. Not fun. Whether or not the 2 are exactly the same i dont know, but they can be interchangable withing the same bumper as far as i know. (i think the only difference is the hid ballasts).

 

Nice thanks for the info. Honestly I just want the ap2 black housing to swap into the ap1 housing that's all.

 

I was researching that when I had my ap1 headlights. I read that you cannot swap the ap2 housings into the ap1's. I could be wrong, but thats what I have read. I'm not to sure if the clear plastic on the headlights are identical, but they sure seem the same.

 

Hm... The only difference I see is that the ap1 ballast is mounted on the bottom and the back of the ap2 is a little different.
