Why did you put an AP2 rack into your AP1?

shorter steering ratio, same reason the CR has it.

Other way around...

The AP1 ratio is faster than the AP2 ratio. The CR has the same (or similar) ratio as the AP1

the steering rack in my ap1 broke and the only one i could get my hands on was one out of a 2008 s2000.

the steering rack in the ap2 is still quick just not as quick as a ap1. The ap2 steering rack is still quicker than the steering racks in type r integra's and nsx's so that suits me fine

as far as i know the cr has the exact same steering rack as the ap1 well it has the same ratio's anyways

to be honest man for the minimal difference between the two steering racks i dont think it would be worth the hassle of changing money could be better spent else where unless you get one for next to nothing!

Yea it would kind of be on my list of things to look for when people part out cars etc. I wouldn't pay much for it. I got my STI steering rack for $250 shipped, from a wrecked car, so that is about what I would pay for an S2K rack.

I need to drive an Ap1 and see if it is a noticable difference and if it would be worth it.

I've had an AP1 and now an AP2. It is a noticeable difference.

Watch the FS forums. I picked mine up for under $100 from a guy who was parting out at 03.

Thanks, that is what I figured. Can you use the speed sensor etc from the AP2?
