Are AP1 tail light LENS the same as AP2?

I just bought a busted up AP2 tail lights and I am planning on swapping my own AP1 tail light lens to fix the AP2. Will it work?

 

Yes, the clear plastic lens is the same. Be super careful when removing the lens from the housing, I broke 3 lenses trying to remove them for some custom painting.

Thanks. So what did you do to replace them?

 

I used the oven method to heat up the sealant between the lens and housing then preyed them apart. Since the lens is mostly flat, it can crack easily when being preyed. After breaking a few I decided to heat them in the oven then more or less cut the lens out of the housing. This is what I would recommend you do as well since you are already sacrificing the AP1 tail light for the lens.

Not sure...I couldn't find just the lens when I was doing my mod. You can pick up AP1 tail lights fairly cheap so why bother?

 

yeah sorry, to bring up an old post. but did they end up working i got a busted ap2 light now that has a slipper hole. wondering does anyone know if they sell the lens separately ? please help

 

According to Honda, you have to buy the tail light as a unit:
