Default AP2 Conversions to AP1 ('01)

Alright, so I haven't really posted here yet, mainly just grabbing info and modding . At any rate, I love my s and I finally getting to the point where I fixing the problems the thieves/previous owner created.

Bought the car in Nov, two days later, seats gone. Seats were stolen, dumbasses couldn't get the radio out but trashed my center console with their screwdriver trying to get it, all they had to do was pop off the front door and middle part, but then again these guys aren't the smartest bunch. That was sad. But after weeks of wrestling with USAA, (they tried to say my car was a total loss), I got them to pay for seats I bought on craigslist. Ended up working out because I got some black and red ones to match my black and red interior + $2000 for the softtop.
Bought the seatlock nuts from Kokodan, and a .45, along with a car alarm, but the best investment by far, is a wireless motion sensor alarm that is in my car. So someone opens my door I have a loud alarm in my room. And hopefully that is enough to stop any m**F**er. At any rate, lots of repair and I've been looking at improving my s with some ap2 parts.

To double check:

1) From what I've heard the ap2 doorpanels swap in the ap1 flawlessly?

2) AP2 center console, nevermind, found out that hardtopguy has the conversion for $530...http://www.hardtopguy.com/store/prod...?productid=649

3) AP2 taillights swap in perfectly right? From what I've heard there is just an extra screw hole that isn't there on the AP1. Will the tail light be loose if I just use the two holes or do I need to drill a third?

4) I know people have done this, but I can't find the any instructions for installing a rear window defroster on the glass soft-top on an ap1. Any links?

4) Aeroscreens - I know ricks2k.com has nice ones, but I've seen them on boxsters before I think, but has anyone seen any grilled mesh aeroscreens? I know what you're thinking, a slotted aeroscreen accomplishes nothing, but these have very small holes and look a lot better than having that huge piece of plexiglass there, they are a little smaller than the grill in the headrests of the ap1, and a black aluminum I think.

5) Electrical cord under driver's side seat? I have no clue what this is, but there is something that under the seat with the proper male to the female, but just curious if anyone had any clue what this was.

6) Lastly, having to look down at the radio for the time is sort of annoying when I'm going to work, anyone heard of anyone swapping in one of the new gauges that has the clock built in or is this unheard of? When it comes to the interior I'm pretty much going from ap1 to ap2 except the seats (ap1's are too sexy) and just want to make sure it is electrically feasible, and if possible physically possible too, as I want to avoid drilling, cutting, welding as much as possible. I found this http://www.dscustoms.com/s2000cluster.htm and I emailed the guy and I will know probably tomorrow if it can be done, my questions is, do the pins even exist, or would I need an newer ECU and wiring harness to make this all possible? From looking at the wiring diagrams here there are completely different wires so I think I would need to rewire the entire electrical system just to get this gauge in place

So thats it. I will post pics of all this when I'm done, which will be after I get my new engine , previous owner put in bad oil, too thick I think, and carmax tried doctoring the oil to cover up the problem rather than fixing all the engine damage; blown gasket, piston rings, pistons, bored out cylinders, and possibly more problems. Did a compression test, getting 160,165,165, 170 lbs/in on the cylinders so I'm definitely losing compression, it's supposed to be 230 something I think on my year. Honda's going to take apart the engine once I give them approval, but first I'm doing a leak down test to make sure there are problems that are there are covered by my warranty so I don't have to pay the $500 teardown and $500 build costs on the engine.

1. doors will swap

2. you found the console

3. Tailights will NOT swap directly. You have to cut the unibody a little.

4. AP1 glass tops have defrosters already

4 part 2. dont know of any mesh

5. seat belt indicator? Air bag sensor? Alarm wire? All three of those under my driver's seat.

6. You cant put an AP2 clustier in an AP1 without reiring for the different harness.

^The lack of an apostrophe threw him off.

There are some MY00/MY01 owners with a glass soft top that had wired the defroster to the console switch where the hardtop defroster button is suppose to go. You may want to look into that.

Good luck on your car.

Hahaha cool, alright yeah I thought the cluster had to be rewired, missed the 't' lol. I'm thinking I might buy a ap1 harness and ap2 cluster and wire it in my room rather than ripping on my existing hardness and cluster.....

What info you need? I've already done ap2 front and rear bumpers, headlights, taillights, center console, and wheels. So I can probably answer your questions.
