Default APR CF side mirrors and thieves question

Im about to pull the trigger and buy a set of APR side mirrors, but I've been hesitant because they seem like an easy target for thieves. Are they just attached with Phillips screws? Is the mirror attached to the base by just a bolt?

Yes i know if the thieves want something bad enough they'd steal it. Just wondering if having these mirrors and them being easy to remove would make it too tempting for small time crooks.

Any APR CF mirror owners please chime in and help me with my decision.

you could buy some tamperproof screws if that was the case. Its the same with our HID bulbs. If you want to switch them you will have to buy a set of tamperproof torx kit. for the bulbs its T 25.

They have a HEX head and you need to hold the bolt from inside the car. They have lock nuts on the inside.

You can twist the mirror part off though but you would have no base to mount them to.

thanks for the info, damn the mirror part was what i was worried about. CF is very tempting to be ripped off. I'm might get these anyway and paint them GPW with a little cf showing on the bottom.

I love the look of them but they are a bitch to adjust and have them not move, havent really given much time to them but havent seen a way to get them to be solid and stuck.

I need to search

They hold fine when driving. But they will move pretty easily if they get bumped.

Me no likie!

Mine came from APR with black bolts that rusted after the first few days. Then I noticed when I got in the car the other day the drivers side mirror fell out.

I like the style but the APR quality is lacking. I for the money I expected more.

BTW, adjustment is a PITA.

Yeah, the stock top bolt sucks, that is why I replaced mine with something that won't rust. Other then that, no other complaints.
