Default ARC cooling plate

I went to install a used ARC cooling plate I picked off the classifieds section and noticed my hood wont latch shut unless I really lean on it.

The raised flange around the latch on the underside of the hood hits the panel. I could tell from scrub marks on the panel that the previous owners hood has rubbed the same spot for some time as well. Is there a different panel for AP1 and AP2 or should this be rubbing like this?

Anyone running this panel notice the same problem? If you look at your panel closely about 3/4" left of the top corner of the latch opening you should see where the underside the hood has rubbed a dull mark.

*not my photo, just found on google images* - Problem area highlighted.

Yes this is quite common on most cooling plates. It seems to only happen on some cars, Idky. However on our cooling plate we have fixed this problem so your hood will shit flush and still close all the way. These should be realeased for sale shortly, in stainless steel, and aluminum.

Very nice, I was thinking of getting some made and having a relief cut like this. Downward flange is a good call too. Thats some pretty ballar material ^

You can tray adjusting your bump stops in the engine bay and also your hood latching mechanism to give it a bit more room. Should fit nicely after

Good call, I'll try bringing up the latch a bit.

Thanks boys.

My Greddy plate does this too. I don't show my car and the part does its job so I don't mind.

When I installed mine, I raised the hood latch up. but when I closed the hood it did not sit flush with the bumper. I tried to get it to fit correctly for at least an hour, I eventually gave up. It looked kinda ghetto so I designed my own cooling plate to fix the problem, now my hood sits flush.

At first I thought this problem was only on my car. But after browsing the engine bay thread on here, I noticed that alot of the pics of cooling plates had marks from the hood hitting in the exact same place. I dont know how these big companys like ARC and Greddy could overlook this fairly obvious problem?
