Nothing worked. Just order a new insert. Easiest way

I have brass inserts you could buy if you remove the plastic one already. Just need to make sure the knob has a 16x1.5 master thread with the insert removed which I believe it does.
A brass or any metal insert will be MUCH better than the plastic ones they use.
