Default ARC ti shiftknob question

Hey guys,

those who have arc ti shiftknobs, did you guys use the the nut to tighten the knob onto? Or did you guys take the nut off and screw the knob right down?

thanks.

Consider it optional. Use the nut to slightly raise the knob or leave it off for an even lower shift lever. I don't have the Arc but I left the nut off with no problems to date.

Yeah its about quarter-inch more of a drop. But I'm just scared to over tighten and strip the plastic threads.

I tested it with and without. It comes loose quite easilly without the nut. How tight did you guys go? Mine kept spinning so I stopped before I stripped the plastic. Does it tighten to a halt?

no nut, I like it low.
BTW if you ever try to reburn it, be prepared for the threaded plastic sleeve to melt. Mine has a metal sleeve in it now.
