Default ASM spoiler on Ebay

Hi guys,

Did anyone buy a ASM spoiler on Ebay? How is the quality?
I saw the one on Ebay is around $100, and was wondering to get one.

Sounds like not good. Compared to the one from Forbidden(FRP or carbon)?

Lol I'm honestly not sure man.

Its $100 and the authentic one is $1000+
So I doubt it's gonna fit like the real deal.

But...it probably won't be miles off either. You'll have to massage a few things into place. I bought a $50 (shipped) OEM replica lip that like...youknow..."fits". But it fits way better than something that cost $50 should.

As for Forbidden ....they definitely make good quality parts. Hardtops for example....but its not like their hardtops 100% fit right up. They don't cost "fit right up" money. It just takes effort to make it right.

It would help if you posted the lip you're planning to get though.

Whether removing the 3rd brake light is legal would likely depend on where you live. Legal most areas I think.

Its a $78 spoiler. Buy it, remove your brake light and see how it fits. If it looks OK, you pay for paint. If not, you are out for under $100 -- or dump it and get some of your money back.

Personally, I wouldn't be willing to lose a 3rd brake light on any car I actually drove regularly, especially a very small, short stopping, more likely to be rear ended car.

I was very close to going with an ASM spoiler but determined that the risk from insurance claims being denied outweighed any benefit. I'd be less concerned with the govt catching you than your insurance company telling you to pound sand after you get rear ended.

you could get a high quality LED strip, stick it on the wind deflector or aftermarket roll bar, and use it as your third brake light. i went this route with my asm boot lip.

3d brake light if a USA federal mandated item and must remain present on cars manufactured in 1986 or later. I'm guessing cars without a functioning 3d brake light will fail any mandatory inspection that some states have. Otherwise I'm guessing local and state PDs will have a vested interest in potential traffic fines.
