autcross build
I am looking at building my s2k to race autocross. im not doing this at a major level but i want to have an all around great car that will be enjoyable on and off the track. This is what i have come up with for my basic idea for power. I am looking for any suggestions that may perform better.
1st I am looking at having Laskey Racing build the engine
2nd i am looking at the full race stage 2 turbo kit, this seems to be a great choice for throttle response.
3rd i would be looking at aem ems
i was wondering if anyone knew anymore about a setup like this and would be able to help me with anything else i would need such as fuel injector sizes, any engine bay mods, etc
thanks

You may want to look into either an Accusump or a Dry sump system from the likes of Race Engine Design. I would recommend the Accusump as it will be more than adequate for the job and a lot cheaper than a Dry sump setup.
For autox, if you havent done it for a while i HIGHLY recommend doing the first season completely stock so you can learn to drive it, starting to mod this soon will just cause problems and slow your learning. Then at the end of the year, look at the different classes and who runs in them locally and then decide what you want to do with the car
I agree with Bronxbomber. Try to get some seat time before buying things for your car. This is the only way for you to find out what you need to upgrade. I would suggest going there with just the basics, like better tires and brakes, and later suspension. You may have the power but if you do not know how to use it, then it is worthless.
I've seen drivers show up with their high power cars, with their jdm this and that upgrades, at local events with no experience. At the end of the day, they are at the buttom of the time list because grandpa (whos been autoxing for years) with a 1985 oldsmobile beat them by 4-5 seconds.

100% agree with the above people. If your goal is to be fast at autocross, all the parts in the world won't move you up the ranks. I've frequently set FTD at local events with an S2000 with a bone stock engine, a set of race tires (on stock wheels), a big front swaybar, and a very aggressive alignment. Everything else was 100% stock.
That said, if you want to mod it for fun or just because you want to, go nuts! I don't enjoy turbo cars for autocross unless it's a small and very quick spooling turbo. Rolling on the throttle VERY early can help but you're always guessing when the power is going to come on.
Note that the S2000 has a hard fight in whatever upper class you end up with. The cars it gets lumped with can make a lot more power for any given allowance in the rules, can fit more tire under them, and sometimes have better suspension geometry.

It's hard to add value to what's been said above, but I'll toss my autocross experience in the pot too. It's really hard to beat a well driven "stock" S2000 that is setup well. The more mods I added, the less competitive I got with my '02. Things you think will improve your times wind up slowing you down. Things like lower gears (4.77's, etc.) will absolutely destroy the car for autocross. Most aftermarket suspensions suck too. You really need to focus on driving skills most, then tires, then suspension. Power output is pretty meaningless for most autocrosses, but a broad, smooth torque curve with an increased rev limit can be helpful.

thanks everyone for the help.... as far as experience goes i have been racing since the age of 10 where i started in karts on a roadcourse. then moved up and raced oval. i have never done autocross however and all your help is very helpful. the turbo i was looking at is a quick spooling turbo. i already have the suspension and sway bars installed. i will most likely take your advice and run stock for the first year. however i have this problem most of us have.... i gotta be doing something to the car lol
