Richard ,

Thanks again for the quick response. Unlike the feel of a short shifter, customer service is objective. You get 5 stars from me.

S2000Shifter, are you going to be in Myrtle for the holidays? I'd love to see this in person before I order.

Just wanted to add a 3rd option to shifters - Spoon, not sure if its a short shift kit but it looks different at the bottom ball joint.

AFSS

I have had mine for a couple of years now many years ( 3.5 years give or take ) and I still love it.
Even like the buzzing because mine starts buzzing around 6 and peeks at 7800. Built in shift indicator.

Wonder when there is going be enough demand to see if RP will make a couple of AFSCs for the S2k

Sideways, thanks for the info. I am going to try the shifter with and without the etd and x-brace, I couldn't pass up S2X's offerings.

Even though I just paid full price for my AxialFlow, I am hoping RP offers everyone a deal for a group buy. More sales will encourage the development of more products.

Glad to help. I read between the lines and see your dad as a kid with domestic hot rod say Chevy or Ford. His car had a standard US 4-speed gearbox, probably a Warner T-10 or the like. In those applications the shift linkage was all external and the fingers and rods exposed.
What he doesn't see now is that there is no linkage other then the stick and pivot box. Ask him to picture moving the pivot pin on his Hurst linkage. I'm just guessing at what he had because that is what I grew up with.
What we supply is everything there is between you and the actual shuttle in the box. Other companys add a riser block under the pivot basket, we don't.
We have adjusted the geometry in other ways but get the same throw.
There still has to be the same ratio between the ends vs the pivot but we make our own parts and are not locked into Honda geometry and pieces.
Think about it as a "see-saw" if you move the board one way or the other they will move at different rates. Of course one side has got to be heavier to work. In this case you need to push harder to get the same shuttle movement while you are moving less.

Hope I helped.

Edit) Look back a few posts and you will see someone elses shifter in a cutaway S2k case. You can clearly see the pivot pin, picture if you move the pin higher and change nothing else. You can see that whatever movment you have on top relates to a given movment below. It of course is known as the "Lever effect"
