Default Bad insurance work...

About six months ago I had someone back into my rear bumper and knocked my exhaust enough so it started rattling against the frame...

insurance was skeptical about the exhaust (no apparent damage) but agreed to have it looked at.

The body shop was skeptical too and was obviously not going to put much energy into it.
But I was adamant that it wasn't hitting the frame before and it was after...
Something got bent and should be fixed.

I went back to pick it up and they hadn't done anything about the rattle...
with some pushing he sent it to his muffler guy.

I should have known better.

cut to last week.
frame rattle has been back for a week or two.
then last week the exhaust starts sounding like crap...
...all fart can nasty (funny thing, teenage boys started throwing me the thumbs up and yelling "fat s2k dude").

so I throw it up on jackstands and decide to see what's up.

the bastards "fixed" the frame rattle by re-welding a loose/bent hanger, but they didn't know how to weld Ti and burned right through the res.

look at those shitty welds!

I'm pissed.

I would be furious.

Good luck with getting that resolved.

As someone with a J's Racing exhaust, and someone who knows just how frustrating bad shop work can be... I'd be absolutely livid right now.

That right there is now gonna be more money to buy a new one for the insurance/shop than the initial cost of repairs. Not only that, but even the wait time is gonna be a pain in the ass.

Damn dude, I feel so bad for you. Hope you get it fixed man, that's not right.

Ouch. I had a J's 60RS titanium as well and had some professional titanium welding done to it.

I frankly think your exhaust is toast. You may have to open up the canister and fix the internals. Then patch a big hole with a titanium plate. Then somehow get the titanium hanger to connect to that new plate.

I would call the person who was handling your claim and say you are not happy with the repairs done, most places have a warranty attached. If that doesnt work you can make a claim through your insurance(most likely for the original estimate or repair order or something along those lines) then they can cut you a check so you can get new exhaust(might not be the same but at least you can get back on the road or order what you want), and then they will go after the other insurance(assuming someone else covered your repairs the first time)
Obviously that exhaust is done,....it was a result of the accident, you are entitled to pre accident condition.
