Default Battery Cover

Did my 2003 come originally with a cover for the battery or were the terminals always exposed (other than the red positive post shield)?

Terminals always exposed, except for the red rubber cap over the + terminal.

Neither of the '02 s2ks I've owned had any cover on the battery. The picture of the engine bay on edmunds.com also shows no cover.

Confirming here as well. I've had an 2001 and now my 2007. Both do not have any covers (except for the red rubber over the +).

Thanks to all who answered. I'm trying to keep it stock and having struggled with a battery cover on my winter ride, a '90 Audi Coupe Quattro, I came to believe that there might have been a cover for the Honda like the Audi. What with the "cover up everything" effect on most modern cars, I thought it was a possibility. thanks again -
