Default Best Chassis Braces

I finally got me an s2k. a '03 AP1 and am very happy with it so far. however my other car has had chassis stuffs (sway bars strut bars eurethane bushings though ought solid engine and trans mounts etc) to basically stiffen the whole thing.

The first s2k i tested had a lot of mods done to it and even though i didn't buy it because it had too many issues I really enjoyed the feel of it. ( it had lots of upgrades but just concerned with chassis right now)

My s2k came with aftermarket wheels, lowering springs and an exhaust. The wheels look good but i get the feeling they are pretty heavy and i am having stud issues because of how thick they are in the lug area so hope to switch to oz alleggeritas and some pilot super sports in the near future.

So the big question is what are the better chassis braces on the market? Ive looked at a few on ebay and they seemed sturdy and well built but not particularly light and also whats a good website to buy s2k parts and upgrades. for my other car i buy stuff from uuc which is top notch hopefully theres a few companies out there like that for the s2k

I would HIGHLY recommend you browse the forum. Check out the "stickies and FAQs"! Or run a search.

Sponsor's section has almost everything you could buy.

These are just a few of them. You also have a member's for sale section, and regional for sales sections too.

People have seen improvement with sway bars but I'm pretty sure "strut bars" are useless on this car. There is a beefy structural cross-member connecting the two shock towers that makes it about as rigid as it's going to get.

Not sure I agree with the strut bar no effect belief. I put the spoon front strut bar and noticed an a change in turn in, especially so at high way speeds on the interstate. For the relatively low price, it may be worth purchasing one and seeing if you can tell. If it doesn't seem to do anything, you now have something to lean on whilst working on the engine!

Get rid of the lowering springs first and buy a decent set of coils. Will see the most improvement there.

Want to increase the rigidness of this chassis? a real roll bar, or better.... a cage.

Coilovers and front sway bar make the largest difference. Strut bars are bling for this car. They are directly over the huge cross member brace already. Some cars they make a difference. This car not so much.
Front sway bar makes a huge difference however! Especially on the AP1's which have a lot more oversteer compared to AP2's.
Quality set of coilovers are the way to go as well. Pss9 if it's a street only car. I'd go with kwv3's if it sees some track time as well.

When I installed my harddog roll cage, I felt a noticeable increase in stiffness on how the car handled.

I have a PWJDM strut bar, replica cusco brace and replica Comptech Brace. Each made an improvement. IDK what people are thinking when they say they do nothing. The changes mine made are night and day. The front is solid!!!

Other meaningful mods: HKS coilovers, Eibach sway bars and a good alignment.

chassis braces and sway bars do NOT do the same thing. read a bit on suspension theory first and then you will know what does what
