Best Header/TP/Exhaust Combo for AP2
I am looking for recommednations for a good header / testpipe / exhaust combo. Any suggestions regarding power / fitment would be appreciated. FYI, i've been looking at Berks header / Testpipe and the Invidia header / testpipe. I really like the greddy spectrum elite. Im just looking to get a combo that i would like. Car is an 06.
I would try to stick with one brand for all parts. Most make their parts to work with the system they sell. I have the entire Berk system and love it but I would check sound clips and look up dynos for gains. There are plenty of exhaust systems out there and I'm sure you'll find one that is made for you. Good luck! Also single or dual??? Check our the NA forum there's a lot of good info there in the exhaust thread.
The only thing important about the combo is getting the diameters right. There's absolutely no reason to buy matching brands, unless you're a brand whore. Look through the official header thread, and pick the one that meets your needs (price, weight, quality, and performance), then read through the official exhast thread, and pick the one that meets your needs (price, weight, looks, and sound), then get any old eBay test pipe that is at least as large in diameter as the header, but no bigger than the exhaust.
I have the PLM header, Berk HFC, and t1r 70-em single.
if I had the monies I would replace my header with hytech and get a hytech test pipe or hfc. I would leave the exhaust because of sound, look, and power though

i have been reading through the header and exhaust threads. How can i justify paying 1500 -2000 for a J's header / Amuse / Mugen when you can get a Berks for 600 Invidia for 700 or a T1R for 1000.
If the J's header make twice as much power as the Berk header, then I'd say it's worth twice as much money. Of course, I don't know if the Berk header makes any power at all,...
I have the T1R header, and am happy with its performance. It makes really nice gains in the mid-range, but I don't think it makes any extra power at all above 6K RPMs. Of course, you'll need a good tuning solution (FlashPro is the obvious choice for you).

BTW, if you aren't going to get a FlashPro, don't bother with a header. Bolt-ons are mostly just good for sound and weight savings if you don't have a way to tune for them.

Tuning is so important.
Once you start adding I/H/E/TP things start to get very lean - 70mm is good, but if you don't have a way of adding fuel you're wasting your time and you won't make much more power of stock.
No one mentioned the Hytech longtube NA header too:

You do have to buy the Hytech test pipe for this one, and then just go with anything 70mm for exhaust...like the Greddy SE you mentioned that you like.
Then get a Flashpro!
