Default BEST INTAKE ON THE MARKET?

Be it CAI or short-ram? If one, why did you pick it?

Nothing rocket science but sounds good, feels nice, and looks great...?

I've been researching this alot on the boards since I took my airbox lid off (give me that sounds!) and I reckon it's the K&N or the PRM. The PRM looks better and looks to get slightly cooler air but I guess the K&N sounds better due to more of the filter being exposed to the air so more sound gets out. I am worried about heatsoak with the K&N tho..

Alot of people seem to say the Comptech or the AEM V2 but I think these are too expensive for what they are and the AEM looks like it would just hoover up water

Fujita -- selected for sound. Never had problems with water and we get plenty of heavy rain here in Houston.

g352s2k can you elaborate on why you changed and what the PRM is like? - especially on the difference in noise from the standard with the airbox lid off?

ok, i like the sound of intake box lid off, but it sokes up so much heat and kills my gas like crazy. I was wondering if CAI sokes up heat too and/or kills gas. And which CAI does not soke up heat?

K+N FIPK2 + heat reflect tape.
or maybe one of the jap ones, but man they are pricey...ugh.

or just do k+n or spoon cone filter, snorkel and leave the stock box on, maybe add some heat reflective tape too.

K&N FIPK 2 ftw. No chance for hydrolock and heat soak is addressed by weatherstripping that seals the intake box area. This together with a AUT or other radiator plate is great. Great sound, good gains, nice presentation.
