I've been liking this: https://www.stormsure.com/adhesives/...g-on-card.html

I attempted to install it on the inside at first but I'm not patient enough to build it up slowly since it will try and drip/run if you use too much.

Then I just got lazy and did it from the outside. Doesn't look great but neither did the hole it now covers.

Depending on where the hole is located this might also work well: THE BLACK HOLE PATCH | THE BLACK HOLE PATCH KIT. I was previously using that for my hole (on the inside of the top) but the moving top arms would cause it to fail after a few years.

Marking thread.

I'm currently using pieces of black Gorilla Tape on the inside to cover a pinhole and a couple of wear spots.

Frustrating since it's my second top.

First one was replaced by Honda under warranty.

I used a GorTex patch on my 1" slit for most of 3 years. $6 or $7 for several square inches on line or at Dicks. Outside of roof. Clean the surface, peel, and stick. Black color isn't perfect but looks better than a bungled patch.

Holes normally appear where the top frame rubs so patching inside will help too as will sanding any rough areas of the frame.

For patching up my tears... I used ballistic-fabric (eBay) and regular 'ol Permatex Black RTV Silicone from PepBoys/Autozone... nothing special, but has held up and looks new like day-1 since 2014 iirc.
