I think I'm going to start with the modification shift knob then follow that up with rims. My tires are practically new, so I don't think I'll be picking up new ones until those wear out. I think they're actually the Michelin sport cups. I just threw on my blizzaks's, which means an auto-x event will have to wait til the spring. I really do want new rims though....

Seriously, you are doing yourself a disservice not buying one. Your profile lists a 2006. Not only can you get a custom tune specific to YOUR car's needs, you can datalog and do so many other neat things with a Flashpro.

Just the canned "stock tuned" calibration that lowers vtec to 5600 + raises redline to 8500 makes the car much more fun and easier to keep in the powerband especially on that 1-2 shift. Gone will be the days of taking it to the very edge of redline and shifting as fast as you can just to keep it on the high cam.

Combine the Flashpro with a $90 testpipe (or a bit more for a high-flow cat) plus a custom tune, and you've got more midrange gains than any other mod short of boost will ever net you. Plus with the Flashpro if you ever DO decide to go with forced induction you've already got the means to tune for it.

My car's powerband from 4200-6000 completely transformed with the Flashpro, testpipe, and e-tune from Evan's Tuning. I can't recommend them enough by the way.

This thread is interesting...

The OP already stated that he hates the wheels the car came with. So, get different wheels and sell your stockies.

Finally someone explains what it does. That sounds amazing and I'm definitely intrigued. That will run me $500? I'm not exactly sure where I would get that or what exactly I'm buying though with it.

I'll offer a quick crash course for you, but there's a wealth of great information out there if you're interested.

Flashpro is the equivalent of a standalone engine management system. You can fully tune fuel and timing along with a ton of other neat features. You can permanently disable VSA for example, or eliminate a check-engine light for no cat if you decide to get a testpipe. You can also correct your speedometer for taller/shorter diameter tires. Basically anything that the computer controls, Flashpro can alter. You use software on your computer to upload a tune to the device via USB cable. Then you take the device out to your car, plug it into the OBDII port under the dash on the driver's side, press a button on the device and wait about 90 seconds for it to reflash your car. Then you are all set--you can unplug it and put it away in the house or you can keep it plugged in to record datalogs. Then you can view those logs back on your computer again later on.

Flashpro costs about $690 but it's well worth it. It comes with a few canned tunes loaded from the factory for various levels of modification. If you don't have anything else done to the car you can just use the "stock tuned" calibration. As I noted previously, this will lower vtec engagement from 6000 rpm to 5600 rpm and also increase your redline to 8500. This makes the car much more fun to drive and it is immediately noticeable.

THEN, to fully realize the benefits of Flashpro you would want to eventually get a custom tune for your specific car. The "e-tune" option is great if you want to have some of the best tuners in the industry available. I chose Evans Tuning as they had a lot of positive reviews on the forums. This will run you $200; or I believe it is discounted to $100 if you bought your Flashpro through them.

While you are at it with the custom tune I would highly recommend a high-flow cat or testpipe. This is a key piece of the puzzle and if you're already buying the Flashpro + buying a custom tune you may as well spend a tiny bit more to get the testpipe or high-flow cat. This part alone will unlock a ton of midrange potential. You can get vtec engagement down to the low 4000s which makes for big (20 ft-lb or more) gains in the midrange. You can't drop vtec below about 5500-5600 on the stock cat or you actually lose power in the midrange. With a testpipe/high-flow cat you can drop it much much lower and gain power/torque throughout that range.

I ended up doing the above--Flashpro, test pipe, e-tune--after extensive research here about the best mods for the S2000. These cars nearly maxed out from the factory. Simply adding an intake or exhaust will do little or nothing and in some cases hurt performance. Getting the Flashpro enables you to not only unlock midrange gains and an increased redline but also tune for future mods. If you do decide to get that intake or full exhaust later on you can have a custom tune done to actually realize the power gains from adding those parts. Down the road if you decide to get a supercharger you'll be ready for the tuning requirements with the Flashpro. I would advise you to search around the tuning subforum here and read up to get an even better understanding. Best mod I've bought by far.

Also swap all fluids to amsoil, also throw a radar detector in there (I suggest 9500ix or v1) and call it a day.
Switch to Amsoil!! Atleast for the tranny/diff. Made a nice change for $45, makes driving the car more enjoyable.

Otherwise I added a sub and new speakers, star specs to come

If you have to ask then you should probably spend some time on the track to figure it out.

Best is subjective regardless of topic. If you use the word best then make sure you fully qualify what you mean when you use the word.
