Default better power gains please help

i have a couple of questions you guys.

i have spoon single 60mm n1 exhaust on my s with test pipe and was thinking of adding headers.

but i was thinking today in the morning to buy the js racing single exhaust 60mm or 70mm.

now my question is how can i get the best powers gains?

will it be with the spoon single and just adding the headers? or

getting the js racing single exhaust 60 or 70?

and maybe later on adding headers to that system?

please help you guys
with the research

Even with headers you will see very small gains.
If you want to make more power on a S2000 you pretty much have to go with ITBs or boost.

S2000's benefit from a test pipe only a little bit.

Installing a test pipe AND getting the car tuned by a competant tuner yeilds more gains than a test pipe alone.

As a general guideline, single exhausts are capable of more gains than duals (and weigh less).

What size is your test pipe? 60mm or 70mm?
It's best if it matches the exhaust diameter.

There are very few (maybe 2 or 3) headers that have been independently tested and PROVEN to make more power. The OEM header is very well designed from the factory. In my opinion, the $1200 it would take to buy a beneficial header could be spent elsewhere to make the car handle better, have more grip, educate the driver to be faster, etc, etc.

I agree with Danwolski, you either have to go ITB's (and bunch of other $$$$$ NA upgrades) or Forced induction to get big power gains from an F2xC motor.

There are 100's of threads on the forums asking your same exact question, in this case, "Search" is your friend.

The Spoon probably yields minimal gains being that it's a 60mm. Same for the Js 60. The Js 70 should be the most although very marginal

OK, thank you for clarifying.

The 70mm should yield more HP. The biggest thing I noticed going from stock to a 70mm testpipe and dual exhaust (untuned) was that it felt a little stronger on the top end via my butt dyno. Only with a tune was I able to achieve any real gains in the mid range.

I have never heard the J's 70mm single in person. You might search youtube to get and idea of what your car might sound like and how loud it may be. I would say it runs the risk of being loud.

I have the 70mm Greddy SE dual and it is plenty loud at WOT - and that's with 2 mufflers!!!! I would assume the single would be louder with one 1 muffler. As a comparison, I'm pretty sure the 3" Berk single is pretty loud - or so I've read here on the forum.

Good Luck with your decision!

I have the Berk 3 inch headerback and the invidia I had was way louder. Even with a cat.
