Buddyclub Spec II exhaust for s2000! Full review with pics and Dyno!

Hey guys
weve been meaning to get to this.. but between being soo busy with rsg parts orders, racing etc... were barely getting to this now.. we also wanted to get a few races and track days in with it before we gave it a good and thorough review.
Rockstar Garage teamed up with Buddyclub early this year (2013) for the wheel to wheel racing series we are currently competing in. one of the more exciting parts we were going to put on the car was the Buddyclub spec II exhaust.. this exhaust is on the of the most beloved exhausts for cars like DC2s and nissan 240s. these things are louder than your normal exhaust utilizing only a smaller resonator for tone in order to keep it super light.. but make a ton of power due to the simple unrestrictive design.. this is a REAL out of the box RACE exhaust!!!
countless meetings with the guys at buddyclub and we were on our way to changing up the car for the better. the race car was a completely stock s2000 under the hood.. the car took advantage of wing, splitter, coilvers and tires.. the car is gutted with a custom 6pt cage and carbon doors.. other than that.. compelely stock race car. with driver and a full tank of gas weighed in at about 2850.
you can imagine my excitement when i got a call from my buddy at buddy club to get over before 5pm because they got a suprise prototype in which no one was expecting! i put down everythign i was doing.. drove over to BC and picked that bad boy up!!! this was the one and only spec II for the s2000 to hit the US.. and it was going on the RSG racecar!!!

the buddyclub spec II uses medium thickness stainless steel tubing for weight savings, clean apperance and strength. I was super happy with the way this exhaust looked.. i didnt know what to expect with this exhaust.. when i got it, i was very pleased with the neat tig welds and overall design of the exhaust. we really needed to lighten up the car a bit.. we were previously using the stock ap2 exhaust on the race car. our goal was to lighten the car up 100-200 lbs if possible.. the exhaust was a good place to start.
look how less restrictive the specII is vs one of the best hp gaining exhausts for the s2000... the asm ss 70mm exhaust.

i really liked that this exhaust took advantage of the OEM hangars.. ive had several aftermarket exhausts in the past for my street s2000 and they all had the single to single hangars.. the triangle shape makes the exhaust not swing from side to side.. keeping the larger muffler outlet from hitting and burning your rear bumper like soo many exhausts do.

immidiately after getting the exhaust, we threw it on the car as well as a few other goodies ( buddyclub header, heat wrap, aem v2 intake, 70mm tp and aem ems v2) and went for a test and tune at bisimoto engineering about 5 minutes away from Rockstar garage headquarters.
the race group limits our car to a 12hp to 1 lb setup... we wanted to put the car on a diet.. so we had to lower the hp which is shown on our dyno.. the car made 239hp on a dynojet. the basemap shown is with all parts pre tune on the ems basemap. we dropped the hp down to 217hp. the greatest improvement was in tq numbers which was most important to our race car and our main goal. we gained a ton of tq power. the car feels amazing and we can now keep up with the 2 turbo cars on the track that race in our series!

here is a race lap at one of our last races at wsir... no too much action but still a fun video... the scion tc is a 300hp+ turbo car piloted by Scion Racing Team driver Michelle Abbate who you can see on the scion racing tv commercials

i hope you have enjoyed this thread.. if you have any further questions about this exhaust or setup.. .please comment or message is in our inbox.. we will do our best to answer any and all questions about this exhaust.. being that this exhaust is not for everyone, we feel this exhaust is an amazing piece for the car and what it was designed to be.
thanks for reading and stay tuned for our write ups on some of the other parts we have tested out on the car

sorry guys.. i actually have a berk on a customers car sitting in my shop.. while the berk is quieter.. the tone on the buddyclub is more my cup of tea
when we were at the redline time attack at wsir a few weekends ago... as the car would take off... there was always someone nearby asking... what car is that?
the berk uses a pretty good size muffler.. powerwise, there is no reason the buddyclub exhaust would make less power.
