Burning OEM Titanium shift knob?

Default Burning OEM Titanium shift knob?

Has anyone tried to Oxidize/Burn the OEM Titanium shift knob (08U92-S2A-100)?

People have said this shift knob isn't titanium and is just a finished aluminum knob, to make it look like titanium. The real Honda titanium shift knobs cost over $200.

Honda advertise it as Ti. Also places like Modiffication sells Ti Knob for 100 (Honda sells it for 130-ish). The $200 knobs are from NSX, which kinda make sense. If you can buy an NSX, you can buy an $200 knob made for the NSX. Also aluminum is lighter and less durable than Ti. There is a thread that someone weighting both.

Unless someone can prove it isn't Ti (take a 130 knob and grind it to see what color is the spark), I kinda trust what Honda advertise it as. If it isn't, then its false advertisement.

Yeah pretty sure the TI knob is actually TI you just have to be sure that you have the Ti knob as used Aluminum and TI ones can look very similar. I mean taking a torch to it and heating it up should tell you if it is Ti or not.
