Default A/C out and battery to trunk

Since I never use A/C, I have been thinking about taking it out to save the 23lbs. And since the spare and tools are gone, I have considered putting the battery in the trunk. Any opinions on this? I just need a new belt, no new pully, right?

While I am at it, I am thinking about a berk high flow cat. I have a 2007 and don't want to fuss with the CEL that testpipes seem to give the 2007s. I have the resonator removed on the stock exhaust, any idea on how it would sound?

a/c delete will net you some weight advantage and very very slight less parasitic drag.

i dont know where you want to put it in the trunk tho, the wheel well(where the spare goes) are too far out if you know what i mean. The current location actually not a bad place consider it's very close to the center and well inside the axle for a good, balanced location. if you put it in the wheel well that will put weight in extreme end of the car.

maybe you should just try a slim/light weight racing battery instead?

no comment about test pipe, i don't think they are needed(my opinion of course) unless you have a good size snail under the hood.

I think if you ever plan on selling the car removing the AC would be a huge mistake.

Of course I would put it back in when I sell it. I have heard it is anywhere from 23-37lbs. I am sure I could feel the difference. From almost empty to a 1/2 tank of gas, I can feel a difference in how the car feels at turn in. That, plus never using, why not take it out?

your gas weight around 85-90 lb, so about 1/3?

reinstalling the a/c could be a royal bitch tho', like slow said, i wouldn't even buy it if it doesn't have a/c i dont' care if it's 2k below market price.(big sissy i know, but if i want a sweaty arse, i'll be riding a ninja with full cow skin )

I don't get what you are trying to say.

The difference in weight that I feel in an "almost empty" tank and 1/2 tanks is about 30lbs. That is "almost empty" (about 2 gallons left) and 1/2 tank (6.5 gallons). I took 5 gallons as an estimate. 5 gallons times 6 (weight of gas) equals 30lbs.

I don't see how it's possible that someone feels a 30lb difference in a 2800lb car.

let me just say you have a well calibrated arse

13 gallon x 6.5(lb per gallon) ~85lb for a full tank

half tank vs almost empty tank ~42.5lbish?

not trying to count beans but yeah, notice how honda put he gas tank right behind the seat in the center of the car? i bet they put it there(instead of closer to trunk area) to minimize rotation inertias.

the same common goes for battery displacement to the trunk also.

I do, some people are more in-tune with their cars then others, depends on you and the driving you regularly do in your car. If you consistently sport drive your car on a regular basis rather then just hit the freeway and stop lights everyday or when the sun comes out then you probably won't.
