Is there any differences betweem the ap2 and ap1 rack and pinion and eps unit?

also can i use a LHD rack and pinion on a RHD?

AP1 and CR are essentially the same. AP1 and CR have quicker ratio. Do a search and you'll find a lot of threads on this. I'm not sure about swapping LHD to RHD. I assume you can't since they are placed in different locations.

AP1 and CR are the same with regard to steering ratio, but pretty positive that you cannot use an AP1 rack in a CR and vice-versa. The reason is because the late model AP2's (06+), have the VSA. You can swap the RHD and LHD racks, but if you're asking this, that would be the least of the process since you would have to convert the car in that particular manner (firewall,master brake cylinder, dash, etc)

Depending on what year the AP2 is, you can use an AP1 rack if it's an 04-05. As for the EPS unit, I am not sure.

 

ok, well i spoke to the dealership,
they are saying there is a way to swap the housing to make the LHD fit the RHD,
but it wont work with my car, cause i beleive its the part that needs to be used back for the lhd to work
with the rhd is what is not working... sigh

anyone with a rhd clip?
