Default Cannot screw on OEM Titanium shift knob AP2

Just got the OEM Ti knob from Handa accessories, however when I try screwing on the knob it doesn't work. It gets a little bit screwed on then stops. I tried to search on this forum for some help, but seems like everyone was able to get it installed. Do I need to apply some lubricant to apply the knob?

You might have started threading it on not with the thread pattern. If that is the case it probably got cross threaded now. Try moving it to a different start point to thread on. If that still doesn't work you might need to re tap it.

No luck trying a different starting point, still gets stuck in the same spot. What do you mean by re-tap it? Sorry I'm new to the lingo.

The threading within the knob looks fine, could it be the shifter itself? It had a junk aftermarket one (A Pilot Automotive one to be exact, which has a plastic piece which you force down onto the shifter) so I'm not sure if that could of damaged the threading on the shifter.

Not sure. Look at both threading carefully. I am sure the shift knob is made to fit as basically all Honda's use the same 10x1.50mm thread pattern.

check the thread on the shifter for messed up threads or maybe some sort of dirt or something that could block the knob from screwing on.

If you want to check the threads of the knob the only thing I can think of is to bring the knob to a hardware store and test out a bolt that has the same thread pattern on the knob.
