Default carbon fiber single exit exhaust cap

i tried using the 3M automotive tape it came with, but the tape refuses to stick firmly to the carbon fiber even with using a blow dryer to help the adhesion. tried it again with some similar molding tape from pep boys, but taped around the entire edge of the exhaust cap (pre-heated the cap and the tape itself), then heated the bumper before i placed it on, which still didn't work.

how did you install it CF exhaust cap owners?

The 3M tape works pretty well, you may have some mold release or other residue still on the CF. Try cleaning the surfaces with alcohol before applying the tape.

The best advise i can give ya, is to make sure its as warm as possible, clean the cars surface with alcohol or similar. you should start in the center, and work your way left and right slowly. Its hard to explain the best way to do it, but any body shop guy thats put on oem lips etc knows the right way.
