Default Ceramic Coating exhaust pipe

I am going to ceramic coat my exhaust pipe on my j's racing 70rr, but not the canister. I know that it'll be in some high temp oven to cure the ceramic, but i am worry if the canister could get damaged while its in the oven curing? anybody has down this before. Btw $$$ is no issue, working for the company has its perks. ...Will the internal of the muffler be durable enough to handle 300-400 degree temperatures?

BTW thanks GOTUNING for the exhaust..IT's a piece of art, i just want to hang it in my garage as a trophy..haha..its so bootiful!!!

Why would it get damaged? Your exhaust temps could conceivably range from 550F - 1200F+ under normal driving. The coating process would include thermally degreasing the parts at about 800F. So most all of the SS would yellow somewhat, but this wouldn't really matter since you're coating them.

I guess I'm just worry about the discoloring of the muffler itself. But everything is a go!! I will post up some after pic of the ceramic!!!

Where are you getting the ceramic coating from? Is it accessible to the public?

It would not damage the exhaust, maybe discolor it. However, on your street car there is really zero need to ceramic coat your exhaust. Keep your factory heat shield in and you will be just fine. If you're worried about heat soak, maybe gut and insulate the airbox as well as shield it. There is no reason to coat the exhaust itself, even if this were a race car. Only the components which would transfer heat to engine components should / need to be coated (i.e. exhaust manifold, downpipes in turbo applications).
