Which vented hood are you looking to get? Most of the vented hoods vents open in non important areas...the only downside would be your engine bay gets dirtier. Also certain brands will also come with rain gutters that you can attach to prevent water from entering your engine bay. Just make sure if your running an aftermarket cold air intake, that the vent does not open right above it. Other than that, you will be fine.

The top quality true carbon fiber hoods will usually have rain channels under the vent to direct water away from the engine bay.

i have the Seibon Carbon Fiber Hood [MG-style] and it came with removable panels that go under the hood to bock water from getting into the bay i removed them when i first installed and have never had a problem washing or with rain when you wash your car just make sure to rinse the engine bay out as long as u dont soak your intake water wont damage the engine the only problem u may have is dry rot on the belt

I ran the J's style for about 8+ years 150k+ mi without a problem. I just recently changed to the Mugen style. Honestly, unless you live somewhere where it rains a lot I wouldn't worry about it.
