Default chaseraero hardtop

alright, so i was one of the first few that got in on the original chaseraero deal a while back earlier this year. i was one of the people that got a bad batch, the front corners being off and showing gaps.

picked this up today from a custom auto place. one of the fiberglassers said he could remold the entire front and respray the entire top (cheap in it's on right) but $25 for a rubber strip is a lot cheaper.

it's supposed to be a jeep fender liner, it's a soft rubber piece with 3m tape.

so, here's my passenger side gap.

just peel the backing as you go and spread the rubber wide and press in.

finished the rubber trim install, left a little extra on both sides.

smooths out the rough edge and closes the gap a little.

passenger side gap now reduced, not perfect but better.

end look.

so, it helps tone down the gap and hide the rough edges. i'd say it's worth it if you have a bad batch. not too expensive to take a shot at it. good news is that i have a whole ton left, enough for two s2000s. pm me if you want the leftovers ($7 shipped continental usa).

Good job on the seal, but this is exactly why I didnt buy a Chaser hardtop. I tried their front bumper and it fit like crap too, so lesson learned with them.

VIS hardtop ftw!

never had wind noise. i just added the trim piece to close out the gap. looks a lot better in person and a lot cheaper than remolding the front.

regarding the extra leftovers, only have enough for two hardtops, awaiting payment from two people and i have one on standby dibs, so others looking to get this trim or any other trim good luck, i was only passively looking for it and was lucky to have found some, but it's out there just gotta find the right place that may have it.
