Default Cheap Hood Dampers

So i am looking for some cheaper hood dampers and i have seen a thread on these that stopped back in 09 so i kind of wanted an update. Are these still the best cheapies to go with?

Saving money is important, but check the SOS ones to see what you're giving up buy going cheap. You could make a set from home depot that's about as good as those. Those Hood brackets look yucky.

if you cant see yourself spending 200 dollers on the best quality hood dampers then stick to the oem hood prop

i have the sokie tech ones .. i installed them in christmas time .. which is only about a month ago..

i have the carbon ones ..
they appear and feel to be of good quality ..
installation was easy .. i did have a problem installing them, but then i checked a picture from a previous installation and it was a breeze..

the only problem i have with them is that the dampers are very hard.
when you open the hood/bonnet, if you let it go it literally FLIES upwards. It does slow down at the top, but it gives you a really bad feeling that its going to break or something.
Even when you close it.. you have to make quite a lot of pressure to close it.

On the plus side, it opens up a good 20-30 cm more than OEM. Its like using the old broomstick

Overall I'm happy with them, but I hope that with time, the dampers will not remain as hard as they are now.

Seems like all made from one manufacturer and re branded and sold for more if "name brand" and less if it no name. I don't think quality would be any different. And even so its not a vital part of the car.
