Default Clear coat over stickers?

I am having a set of evo regamasters refinished and the shop that is doing them wants to apply the stickers and then spray clear coat over them. My question is: is this the normal process?

The reason I ask is that my buddy bought some time attack te-37's and the stickers were not applied when they arrived. I would imagine that most wheels do not have clear coat over their stickers. Thoughts?

do not clear coat over the stickers! idk what the colors are but say you had white wheels w/ blue stickers and you decide to sell them and a prospective buyer has a red car. If he is anal like me he would not buy the wheels b/c there is no way to take off the blue sticker...see what I'm saying?

If you put the stickers on without the clear coat, the sticker will start to peal and will fall off over time or fade. If you apply the sticker with a clear coat, it will last pretty much forever without fading or pealing off.

I understand the hate for stickers, but these are regamaster evo's! If I don't put on the stickers the rims could be mistaken for freaking slipstreams! Also, I took the time and dished out the money for Authentic evo stickers.

any other opinions?

Thank you. I was considering the idea that maybe some day i would like to take them off, or at least be able to. I am not sure why, as these rims look so awesome with the stickers.

so stickers can be acquired separately then? so what is stopping people from buying slipstreams and then adding the said stickers on?

a side note, on the brake calipers i have the s2000 stickers, i sprayed a clearcoat over one to see how it'd look, same idea of having a clear paint/glue holding them down, but they edges of the stickers started to curl and wasn't sure if the clear coat was dissolving the sticker and/or adhesive either.

They only way to remove the sticker would be to refinish the rim...meaning sanding and repainting Its relatively permanent

I guess i ended my thought there early on my last post. I understand the permanence, but it isn't like I would be able to remove the stickers and reuse them. If the rims need refinishing again in the future I am going to need new stickers either way. I have decided to have them cleared over. thanks for everybodies advice!
