Default CT engineering intake filter replacement

I've heard that foam filters are inferior to regular filters for dust particles. Living in the desert this is a concern. Is there any filter that fits in the CT engineering for the 2006+ icebox to replace the foam filter ?

I am not sure have u checked the diameter, maybe u can see among other filters if there is one that would fit.
How u like the icebox? I bought mine last week from Go Tuning, still waiting for that to come. According to UPS it'll be here Friday. Can't wait!!!!
Did u have any problem with the installation? Thanks David

I guess I'd have to measure it out.

The sound is slightly louder and deeper. Most of the time I don't really notice the difference in sound unless the I floor it at high gear without being in vtec.

There is a faint whistling sound that comes from the intake which was unexpected but I don't mind it.

I feel a slight difference in the powerband but I haven't taken it on a dyno or anything.
The installation was easy enough but the instructions weren't the best.

The hardest part was moving the horn to a different location and removing the oem coolant lines connected to the intake without tearing them.

This was also my question months ago, but I never got a answer. I wanted to see if a 3'' KnN/AEM air filter would fit on this before I made the purchase due to me not wanting to use the foam filter. Hopefully you can find out then let me know, since in never got a answer I just heat wrapped & gutted the stock air box and slapped in a KnN air filter replacement.

AEM/K&N/Amsoil/AFe should have sizes that will mimic the Comptech Foam filter

I like AEM Dry Flow filters, no oil and you can wash them.
You can find one that fits your car here
