I'd like to cover it in some sort of black insulating tape/wrap/material. Does anyone have any good products in mind?

The foil tape was used to deflect the radiant heat trying to enter the airbox chamber.

Nice piece. It definitely isolates the filter well. As long as you have the foil tape on the outside of the box i don't think you need it inside. The tape inside is just reflecting heat at the filter. That way you can paint the inside black or whatever you want to make it look nicer. Just a suggestion.

Header wrap isn't a good idea to use on the intake as its meant to hold in heat which is used for exhaust manifolds and reduce underhood temps. it baffles me when people do this. They call it exhaust wrap for a reason. You need a heat reflection. DEI makes several different kinds. I run the reflect a gold.... Used by many in the racing world
