I just received my custom made elbow pad on the center console from JPM Coachworks. Before anything, here's the photo of it.



The product:

The quality of the leather, alcantara, stitching and the custom embroidery is top notch. You can specify any material you want on the side and center of the pad and the color of the stitching. You can also request to add some additional padding for no extra cost. You can also add custom embroidery to it. When it comes to the design of the embroidery, your imagination is the limit. I had something cool above my signature there, but due to some issue, I can't show it here. PM me if you want see the cool stuff.


The customer service:

Joe is the representative that took care of me. He's the easiest person I have ever worked with. I am an @$$ when it comes to getting things to perfection. Joe went the extra mile to make sure that I am happy with their design, I can't even remember how many times I have requested for them to change the design, the font, the size etc. He corresponds to my email so quickly that we managed to squeeze in over a dozen emails every day. Everything went to smoothly that by the time my elbow pad gets to his shop, everything is ready for them to install, and ship it back to me in no time.

Wait, that is an elbow pad? Your elbows reach that far? My elbows are at least 4 inches above console when driving. It never occured to me that area could be used by some drivers to rest their elbow!

 

you must be a very tall guy, or you sit very straight. i am 6-1 but i don't sit very straight, so my elbow is resting on that all the time.

Joe has done my entire interior - door cards, elbowpad, shift boot, sunvisors, and steering wheel. Joe is top notch and his company does great work. He uses the best leather of any aftermarket company that I've used, no one else comes close to matching his leather quality. Great customer service from him every time.

 

i'm interest in getting this as the other day i left my top down and it got wet from the sprinkler. Well today I notice that the elbow pad leather is coming apart....

if i order this from them, will they include pad? I would ship the whole unit back to them but don't know how long it would take. This is my DD so having the center console out is not what i would like to do.


as for material. I would like the cr yellow stitch but don't know what to go with. Should i go with perforated leather or leather (in black)

no, they don't include pad. you need to mail yours to them. make sure you only mail them the pad and not the entire center console. this save you on shipping and allow you to still use the rest of the console. the turnover is very quick if you talk to joe and said you need it quicker (at least he managed to squeeze me in for a quick turnover, it all depends on their availability).

as for material, it depends on what you like and what your current interior looks like. i believe some ap2 has perforated leather somewhere. my ap1 has regular leather/vinyl, so i decided to just use the regular leather for my pad. perforated leather would look out of place, and i personally prefer the regular leather. i had regular leather on the sides and alcantara in the center, which feel really good.
