Default Custom TI Exhaust

I'm looking to get a custom TI exhaust done for a turbo setup. Is there any preference of what type of mufflers/pipes recommended? Or are they pretty much all the same? Thanks in advance.

You should be asking your fabricating shop what they use and what their capabilities are.

Ti is NOT something the average exhaust shop can weld up. Hell, even most welding operations are not equipped to weld Ti materials. This is partly why a Ti system is so expensive.

But, so you can have a somewhat educated conversation with your fabricator, here are some references. The three alloys listed in the whitepaper are fairly well-known alloys.

I guess my question is what are you looking for that isn't available from an off the shelf exhaust? You are setting up for a challenge given titanium is difficult to work with as noted above. I would likely look for an off the shelf muffler as having a shop fab one up will be even more expensive (if a shop would even do it).

ive been looking for full 3inch dual titanium exhausts but no luck. Most are smaller or not titanium. Do you have any other recommendations for exhausts that are available to buy? Thanks.

Ah 3 inch dual titanium is going to be tough and can't say I know of anyone currently making that. You might try contacting origin fab and see if they could make you one. They make a 76mm single titanium exhaust.

Yes - it's been difficult to look around which is why I went the custom route, but I am still looking at some piece work options. Do you have any experience with vibrant and/or BBT products?

BBT no. Vibrant I used one of their resonators on an exhaust a while back but not on an S2000. It was something added to an off the shelf exhaust though so not really the same use case.

I'm all for innovation and having the best setup possible on my car, but a 3 inch dual titanium exhaust? Usually when I think titanium exhausts I think of ultra light and single exit. Titanium, as others have pointed out, is not the easiest to work with due to the lack of shops that can work with it. Why not just go with a full stainless custom dual exit exhaust? It will be cheaper and easier to have a shop work with and repair if needed. It may not be as light but it'll be lighter than oem for sure. If you do end up going titanium though, post pics!
