hahaha i have this nice silver NRG one with a Puddymod bracket (which was a biotch to install btw) i was expecting it to be about a 5 minute install but it took much longer than expected

and the damper didn't help the vibration at all...maybe i need to screw the eye bolt in a little more close to the strut tower side then pull the engine back more so that the damper is absorbing more vibration...but i set it as tight as i could...maybe i should try again when i'm not as tired

i also couldn't get the bolts on the fuse box down tight enough without making the bolt cut through the plastic on one of the tabs, so it's like not fully held down on that side

 

im planning on switching to a Voodoo soon. i had one before but sold it when i got the Alex Ti one. and i tried the stock knob, it rattled much less, but in high VTEC it was almost as bad as the Alex one...

 

This is exactly the kind of discussion I come to s2ki for, thanks for the great post guys. Personally I'm happy with just a Mugen knob (the dildo one). For a change of pace, I'm easily bored I guess, I also use the Voodoo but shimmed 6mm higher which is perfect leverage for me.

 

i have an axial flow with a 1lb twm type-r countersunk knob.. i love the feel of it, and it doesnt make much sound at all. my competition clutch buzz is the loudest thing in my car.

i love my shifter, my throws are maybe only 1" long and the billet shifter feel is definately what i prefer.

I have the axialfow and love it. Installed it with 30k and now have 72k and no problems smooth engagement. It is a "mechanical" feel as it was put earlier, you really know when you engage a gear and I love it when cruising as my arm can rest in one spot and touch every gear. Great post man love the detail. They should stickie this as it can be resourceful into someone looking into getting a short shifter.

 

the boot that axial includes did VERY little for me. i'm sure it's because of my hollow Ti Alex knob. but i love that knob too much to take it off for some rattles

To get a shorter shifter, I got a Rick's Voodoo knob, and found that I could get even a bit lower by cutting off about 3/8 inch of the stock shaft. The main thing I like about this set up is that the centering spring becomes stronger to the feel, and this (for me) prevents shifting to the wrong gear -- which can be fatal on downshifts. I further like it because the shifter ball location now fits my body better.

I certainly agree that a short shifter does nothing to improve acceleration. But for me it does improve ergonomics.

 

^^wow, seeing that picture really makes me miss my car like hell. it's been almost 2 months--i actually forgot how short my shifter is! dumbasses @ bodyshops and insurance adjusters FTMLFL!!!
