Default different exhaust question!

this might have been asked before, but i couldnt find anything... ok i have an HKS exhaust and love the sound, but am willing to drop that for more power. i know the deal, HKS doesnt make much power, a good 70mm single is better. but what about a 3 inch striaght to a tip out the back? maybe throw in a small muffler to silence it a little bit... better than invidia or other 70 mm pipes? or is it too much pipe? people say 70mm(2.75in.) makes the most power over a 60mm(2.5in.), so why not go to something like a 3 inch?

you then get into the talks about backpressure and such. loss of torque, etc etc. In general 3" would be too large for most n/a setups. just stick with a 70mm if you are going to stay n/a. FI people usually do 3" for greater flow.

yeah 3" for forced induction, 70mm for n/a

and 63mm is 2.5", 60mm is 2.36"

anything bigger than a 70mm on an n/a motor will not create enough backpressure and will cause you to lose hp and torque. lots of people here are still in denial and say the 70mm will not create enough backpressure. so anything bigger is definately not a good idea.

if you want to be able to have a conversation in your car then don't get invidia. all 70mm exhausts are dyno proven to make power. 70mm singles are the best way to go for power and weight savings. T1R and ASM make some good sounding not obnoxiously loud 70mm singles.

im not saying an invidia. i will probly do a custom straight and have a small muffler on there somewhere though. and im deff keeping the dual look because i love it... i just dont go for single exhaust looks... but a 70mm dual will still make lots mroe power than my HKS probly...?

Sure will, I will recommend the T1R 70mm dual sparrow, very nice sound, power, and quality.
