Default DIY: Simple Stop Hardtop squeak

Had an annoying squeak with my hardtop. Before leaving on a long trip (Tail of the Dragon), I wanted it gone but did not want to take apart the latches and add spacers or things like that.

Problem: Squeaky hardtop
Solution: Find two tire valve stem caps, place them over the hooks on the windshield latches and latch tight

Worked perfect, not one squeak for 3000 km trip. I am sure it wont work for all, but worked fine for me and was a simple solution.

Impressive modification, I know. Payments of gratitude and wonder accepted.

Pics? Really?

Should be easy to imagine. A cap for each hook. Easy.

I used leftover material from a weatherstrip. That works too. And stuff a little sliver of the leftover weatherstrip into the latch where it hinges.
