If a $107 header can make power anywhere in the rpm band over stock, I will donate my large left testicle to science.

Or it could actually cause you to lose power. That's an equally realistic scenario.

More likely it won't do anything until the welds crack and it falls apart. No matter how cheap it is a waste of money unless your car currently has no header. Also it is header. There is only 1 header on the car.

A much better use of $100 is a Berk test pipe since that will actually provide a power increase.

Its not easy to beat the stock header. Most cars don't have a header stock, but rather a cast manifold. So while on most cars even a poorly designed header can give some gain, on this car its much more likely to lose power, not be as robust as stock.

Don't waste your money. We are all saying these things because we learned these lessons (cheap crappy parts suck) the hard way, and are trying to help you avoid our mistakes.

If you want a budget header for this car that is known to make a little gain over stock, get a PLM, which is a J's replica. I think they go for $500 now on Ebay so its not exactly a $107 header, but its one of the few quality budget headers that makes some gains and will provide some weight savings. These headers at one point cost half as much, but I guess the popularity justified the price hike over the years.

I can say that if you track your car, plan on it cracking. Mine has cracked 4 times..... (both 02 bungs have blown out, the second collector has cracked once and It cracked on the flange to the test pipe) on the other hand, if it ever cracks in a place that cant be fixed, I'd probably buy another one. It does make power, and most of all it really reduces exhaust rasp

Oh really? Good to know. I still run the stock header, but a couple friends of mine have run the PLM without quality issues, however neither put much in the way of repetitive track abuse either. I thought about picking one up now and again, but the prospects of more noise and heat under the hood always gave me second thoughts. That and the price keeps going up on these headers.
